SeaBass

Sea bass is a common name for different species of fish that are found in shallower waters usually around structure.  There are actually over 475 species of this that fall under this category world wide.

in the waters off of New Jersey the most typical Sea Bass is a fish we call the Black Sea Bass.  The fish that we catch typically run from about 2 pounds to 5+ pounds.   We catch them with light gear either fishing with Bait or jigs over structure.

These fish are plentiful off the New Jersey coast and can fill a cooler quickly.  They are a lot of fun to catch and are perfect for first timers or the novice fisherman.   The action tends to be fast and furious with doubles  and triples a common occurrence.

Sea Bass are excellent eating and a typically fried.  They are perfect for fish and chips or fish tacos.
